Badminton has a long tradition in South Tyrol and above all in Bolzano (provincial capital), where many Italian absolute, junior and under champions come from South Tyrol.

In the year 2022, an international youth tournament called "Bozner Frühling Youth International" was held. This sporting event was organised by the A.S.D. Sport Promotion Bolzano with the participation of athletes from the following 8 countries: Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Germany, Malta, Romania, Hungary, Switzerland and of course Italy.

In the year 2023, this tournament was repeated due to last year's success with the participation of athletes from 16 foreign nations, including: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany Hungary, Maldives, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Netherlands, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland and of course Italy.

In the year 2024 (the 3rd edition of the "Bozner Frühling Youth International") was a great success in terms of participation with 343 athletes registered and from no less than 20 foreign countries, including: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, England, Germany Hungary, Israel, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, and of course Italy.

In the year 2025 (the 4th edition of the "Bozner Frühling Youth International") was a great success in terms of participation with 332 athletes registered and from no less than 17 foreign countries, including: Armenia, Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Israel, Liechtenstein, Maldives, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, and of course Italy.

In 2026 (the 5th edition of the “Bozner Frühling Youth International” tournament), the event was a huge success in terms of participation, with 357 registered athletes from 15 different countries, including: Austria, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, and of course, Italy.

In 2027 (the 6th edition of the “Bozner Frühling Youth International” tournament), the event will take place in two different sport halls (within walking distance of each other, for a total of 22 courts), from April 30 to May 2, 2027.
